Rivalry Tournament!

We're about 2 months away from the SOLD OUT 2008 DCene Beer Pong Tournament. This tournament will be even bigger and better than ever thanks to our sponsors: Airsoft CQB, Mobilize.org, Port-O-Pong and Hamilton's Bar & Grill. Details regarding the tournament (including regions, Announcers and Queens of the Tournament) will be revealed in coming weeks but Mobilize.org has decided to host two practice tournaments that we're calling "Rivalry" Tournaments on May 3rd and June 7th. These tournaments are open to all and will help teams establish rivalries with each other to add to the smack talk leading up to June 21st! We also are in discussions to establish the #1 and #2 contenders for the DCene Tournament Championship through these "rivalry" tournaments.

Where: Hamilton's Bar and Grill, 233 2nd Street NW, Washington DC
When: May 3rd and June 7th at 4:00 p.m.
What: Battle it out to be "Warm Up" Champions and practice for the Annual Beer Pong Competition

Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 teams, and in order to play there is a $60 fee per team per tournament (you even get a tax deductible donation for a part of your entry fee!)

There are 28 initial slots available in the 32-team bracket for the main event on Saturday, June 21st. The winner of the 32-team tournament on Saturday, June 21st receives $700 and championship belts.

Once the first 28 slots are filled, remaining teams will participate in a "Play-In Tournament " on Friday, June 20th. Beginning at 8 PM, teams will have 2 hours to win as many games as possible. At 10 PM, the four teams with the most wins in 2 hours will advance to Saturday's bracket with the final four slots.

Teams that have played in the tournament before will be able to begin signing up for the tournament on Thursday, March 13th. Registration will open to all teams on Saturday, March 15th at 9 PM at Hamilton's during our DVD Release Party.

YOUR TEAM IS NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL I RECEIVE YOUR CHECK AND TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE CONFIRMED. Team registration is $90 for a two-person team. This includes your beer for the tournament (win or lose) and a t-shirt. Checks should be made out to "Adam Rosenberg". TEAM FEES ARE NONREFUNDABLE as they go to pay for the tournament so if you no-show, it's your loss.

If you lose, you're out of the tournament but you can still drink.

We reserve the right to deny a team's entry into the tournament for completely unfair and arbitrary reasons. We've done this for four years and have earned the right to be smarmy. Also, don't sign up if you're worried about people at work knowing you're playing in a beer pong tournament because it's not our job to tell you whether or not playing in a public beer pong tournament is socially acceptable in your office.

We still need volunteers and possible “Queens” of the tournament. Let us know if you're interested.
